artist bio

Born & raised in Houston, McKenna Gessner (she/they) is a multi-disciplinary artist. Their art explores themes of reproduction, the disruption of cycles, survival, landscapes, and the medicalized body. McKenna creates film photographs, digital art, cyanotype prints, collages, zines, and video projection. Their work has been featured in gallery shows at Hardy & Nance Studios, 8x5 Houston a public art installation by SaveArtSpace x Art At A Time Like This, Aurora Picture Show x The Menil Collection’s Bring Your Own Beamer event, Lagniappe Literature and Arts Magazine, Omentum, Uncle Bob’s Photo Zine Market, Collide Zine, and PhotoLounge. They are currently living and training as a full-spectrum family physician in West Philly.
